Terms of Service
Last updated
These terms cover your use of Finly. They are deliberately short and plain. By creating an account you agree to them.
What Finly is, and what it is not
Finly is a tool for recording and understanding your own finances. You enter your data; Finly organises it and can answer questions about it.
- Finly is not a bank and does not hold, move, or have access to any money.
- Finly is not regulated as a financial institution or payment service.
- Finly does not provide financial advice. Nothing in the app or from the assistant is advice, a recommendation, or a professional opinion. Decisions about your money are yours.
- Finly does not connect to your bank. There is no account aggregation, and Finly never asks for banking credentials. If anything claiming to be Finly asks for them, it is not us.
Early access
Finly is early-access software provided free of charge. There is no subscription, no billing, and no payment method on file. Features may change or be removed, and the service may be unavailable at times.
Please keep your own copy of anything important. The export feature exists partly for this reason.
Your account
You must be 18 or older. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity that happens under your account. One account is for one person; please do not share credentials.
Use Finly for your own finances, lawfully. Do not attempt to access anyone else’s data, disrupt the service, or use it to break the law.
The AI assistant
The assistant sends your data to third-party AI providers to answer questions — see the Privacy Policy for who they are and what they receive. Using the assistant is optional and the rest of Finly works without it.
AI output can be wrong. It may misread your data, miscalculate, or state something confidently and incorrectly. Check anything that matters before acting on it.
The assistant can change your data on your instruction — adding a transaction, editing a budget. Destructive actions ask you to confirm first. Actions you confirm are your responsibility, and most deletions can be undone from the conversation if you act promptly.
Your data
Your data is yours. Finly claims no ownership of what you enter and does not sell it or use it for advertising.
You can export everything or delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
Ending your use of Finly
You can stop at any time by deleting your account. Finly may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these terms or to harm the service or other people. If that happens and it is not urgent, you will be given a chance to export your data first.
No warranty, and limits on liability
Finly is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. It is free, early-access software maintained by a very small team, and it may contain errors.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Finly is not liable for financial losses, lost data, or other damages arising from your use of the service, including from AI output that turns out to be incorrect. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.
Changes and contact
These terms may change; the date at the top will change with them. Continuing to use Finly after a change means accepting the updated terms.
